How long before I get an egg?

Be careful with your new eggs :hit I accidentaly dropped one today because I was going to candle it and a fully developed peachick fell out of the shell. So freakin mad at myself for being so clumsy

Oh, that's horrible. Hope all your other eggs turn out okay.

So Sorry! They do get to be really smooth and hard to get a grip on especially if they are under a hen. Almost like they've been buffed.

I have done the same thing

I even tossed a good egg to my dog when i thought it was bad because it was 3 days past hatch time only to find it was still alive

These guys are about 7 months old, all my chicks are this size and seem to he happy and healthy. How long befor I get an egg out of them?

Well, this is the peafowl section :)
But for a chicken, it depends on the breed. Most of my breeds start laying earlier than 7 months, but my Cochins take about 10 months.
Oh, and your pictured chicken looks like a Roo.

Yes that one is my rooster. I posted him up just as an general idea on the size of the chickens. I have giant blacks and whites mixed we have 12 of them all together. The giant blacks are 4 month older but they have seem to been nesting a lot and laying down but we have not seen an egg yet and they are about 9 months old
