How long before they're not afraid to come out?

Thanks. We got them on Thursday and they still haven't come out. The coop is about 3 feet off the ground with a ladder going down into an enclosed run area. You think I should push them out? They're not used to being held by people yet but once I'm holding them they're fine. I've thrown some treats down the ladder and they still just look at it like "What?". lol

Our weather has been cold and misty too, and I have a pair of 8-week-olds that will come out to eat and drink, eat grass and play a little--but they prefer to be in the coop which is opposite to my other chickens.

I think the high winds have been keeping the little ones in as well. Wait a little longer -- especially until the weather lets up..... they will feel at home and be exploring their surroundings IMO.

Goodluck with them, i had the same problem with my 3 week old babies. Mom went in and they couldnt figure it out! The elivation makes it hard so you can just throw them. Have you tried puting scratch on the ramp or shredded chesee that is allways a fav??mine would any thing for cheese!!!

Thanks! Their coop is about 3' by 4' and about 3' off the ground with a ladder that has runs, or pieces of wood, going down on it. Yesterday I saw one of them standing about halfway down the ladder (so her top half was still in the coop) but then she jumped back up.
