how long can a broody hen be off her eggs?

If the eggs were allowed to cool for only 3-4 hours there's still a very good chance that they'll hatch. If you're good at candling but not as good at waiting, you can take a look to see if there's still growth or movement. Otherwise, wait until they're due to hatch.

Actually I don't use candling, I have a special lamp for seeing through the eggs. And there is a change inside the egg.

Is there a way that you could see if the egg is dead? Because I have a couple of eggs inside my incubator and I just don't know if there developing.

I had just one chick hatch. All the other ones she accidentally broke and in one of them their was a chick, but it was dead.

And by the way, can I put new eggs under her. Will she still sit on them?

she will most likely take the new eggs on too, just make sure she is going to be broody for long enough!
