How long can chickens go without food and especially water?

Hi I was left some chickens to take care of and I have left them 2 days without water. I think they still have food. Will they die from dehydration? How many days can they go max without water? Google says 2 days but I think it's more. I mean humans can go like 7 days right?

Chickens, like any living animal need access to fresh water 24/7. They will definitely be dehydrated by now, and it can kill them. They need water ASAP.

Why would you leave them without water? If they don't die, they may very well be physically damaged.

They are small! You should tell anyone you can to refill their waterer!
If you are new to chickens you should ask us stuff always.

2 days without water? I would be surprised if they aren't dead already. They should have fresh water 24/7.

Humans can only go about 3 days without water before dying. Chickens wouldn't be able to last that long.

Why have you not fed or watered them? If you are unable to care for them then you should tell the owner and at least find someone that can provide water so they don't die.

How long have they been in your care? If they do make it they will be very ill.
