How long can coturnix quail hatchlings go without water?

Is it the same as chicks? Or do they need water sooner because they are so small?

They should be offered water and food as soon as they hit the brooder. They don't have the same reserves as chicken chicks.

Ok, thank-you. Can I put a little sugar in their water like I do with chicks or should it be plain water?

As soon as they hit the brooder should be about 12-24 hours. Sugar water can cause diarrhea, just plain water is fine. If you have some vitamin/electrolyte solution (like Sav-A-Chick) you can mix that in the water, otherwise just give them plain ol' water

Sugar in the water can cause diarrhea in any chicks so you probably shouldn't do it with your other chicks either unless they really need it, then it should be vitamins and electrolytes instead of just sugar.
