My broody hen had been setting for about a week on some eggs and then yesterday decided that she would rather try to hatch the golf balls in the adjacent nest. It was in between the time I went to work and came home. I immediately removed the stupid golf balls and replaced the eggs under her. Can they possibly make it? I am not going to put any egg shaped object in there until she is done...UH!!! :o

Hi,
My broody switched nest boxes one day too. We put her back on her nest and she hatched 75% of her babies last week. We don't know how long she was off - it could have been anywhere from 1 to 10 hours! Good Luck!

well I am not giving up until I see bad eggs when candled or babies coming outta the eggs.

One baby survived. The membrane was so thick I had to help it out. It was struggling all day while I was at work. It is now under mama and doin fine.

What a cute little chick! I found my broody on the other nest today with the newly laid eggs. She must have gotten confused. She could have been there for 4 hours. It's 90 degrees in the coop, I hope some little chick makes it.

I had a hen that left the eggs for a day and a half before I knew it and every egg hatched, I put em under another hen, good luck with em.........

Awwwwwww, adorable!!!!
