How long can you keep eggs before incubating??

How do you store the eggs so they stay good until you can incubate them?im new to this so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question :/ never mind I just seen cmom comment I would delete this but I'm not sure how to do that

Participating in the New Year's Hatch of 2015, and I wanted to know when to start collecting eggs and how to store them. Looks like low temps, reasonable humidity, storing them big-end-up, and "turning" them by placing a book under one end of the carton and then switching to the other side.

Participating in the New Year's Hatch of 2015, and I wanted to know when to start collecting eggs and how to store them. Looks like low temps, reasonable humidity, storing them big-end-up, and "turning" them by placing a book under one end of the carton and then switching to the other side.

So if you have to store your eggs for a larger hatching, with the pointed end down so the air pocket is on top, but the if you turn them (while gathering for the incubator)then that will put the pointed end up! Won't that be bad, because now the pointed end is up?

It makes sense to me to keep the pointed end down until in the incubator so the air back is intact. But my first batch got TOO hot, and I think I burnt them. I lost them all, now on my second batch and I got my temperature right, but I can't seem to get my humidity above 47%, I've added wet rags, I have a little giant with heat, fan, and auto turner. Why can't I get my humidity right, they are due Jan 4th, some help please? 731-659-one230

If you're using the hygrometor on the LG they are normally wrong. Get a good hygrometor to put in your bator.

Thanks I've learned that the digital meters on the LG, does not give correct reading, I'm only getting about 50% out of it, I've got to but a separate hydrometer for it for sure.
