Hello everyone, my friend and I are going to try our hand at raising some Quail from Incubation through adulthood and I have just a quick question. When or after you purchase the eggs to incubate, how long do I have after they arrive that they need to be in the Incubator?

Thanks and I can’t begin to tell you how informative this website has been!

If you buy shipped eggs they need to go in the incubator as soon as possible.

Also I'm really - really not being mean but if you cannot answer that yourself, you had better spend some time on research because there will be many questions that you'll need to answer before they become questions.

I would much rather see you here excitedly reporting a brooder full of chicks, than being sad, a few dollars poorer and wondering what went wrong.

I'm here for you, as are many others. Best Luck! -QJ

Er, I don't intend to sound offensive to QuailJailer, but they should sit for at least a couple hours (a full day is best) pointy side down after you receive them to let the contents/air sack to settle.

NO no, not offended, in fact
I agree totally. I was as I usually do, speaking in general terms...I mean you dont have a couple days to knock about before getting started.

edit;
Letting them idle a full day is good in some cases, but if they are say three days old and then in transit three days...Well as for me I'd let them acclimate 3-4 hours and let er roll...

Thank you all for the comments, I do plan to do a lot of reading over the next week or so before I even order the eggs. It's very exciting and can't wait to take this journey!
