how long do i wait?

I have waited for a long 20 weeks and my chickens are not laying yet, How old are they supposed to be? I am new to chickens so I really don't know!

They can start laying anywhere from 22-30 weeks of age, depending on breed and other factors. My BPR, RIR and Australorps generally start at about 24-26 weeks.

It does depend on the breed, I've had them start as early as 18 weeks. What kind of ladies do you have? Pictures?

Yeah, unfortunately, chickens don't read the book, so they don't know they're supposed to start laying at exactly 20 weeks! Most of mine have started around that age, though.

Just curious, what picture are you looking at? I don't see any.
