How long do new chickens need to stay in the coop?

Brilliant! Mine have yet to explore their new jungle gym. I must admit I'm a bit miffed at that after the effort I put in

Just a quick update on how the chickens are settling in........

They are happy enough to feed out of mine and the kids hands and be stroked whilst on the jungle gym

One of my girls has laid their first egg its a soft shelled one!
I found it under the jungle gym obviously I'll have to wait and see but if they carry on not laying in the nest box then would it be best to put some fake eggs in the nest box to try and promote them laying in there?
