I had a herd of guineas around 8 or so hens and 2 roosters at one time i had 4 hens laying in the same nest and the eggs got up to 37 eggs and then went out one day and had 2 hens setting and they hatched 32 keets so dont never count guineas out
OOH forgot to add this.
Don't remove them all. You can mark with an x the bad ones and put them back. Also if you see the hen DON'T disturb her. They will lay in that spot all season if they think you can't find her nest.
Then it is like taking candy from a baby! Ahh err Guinnea.
I went and gathered the eggs today and I left 7 in the nest (I marked these).
Here they are...
They all sat at the bottom of the sink of warm water...
I tried my best to candle these but I cant tell anything! I've never candled before and the eggs are thick... so I'm not positive about them being fertile... I did check for the bulls eye through the weeks (2 eggs) and it looked like it to me
The ones I have in the bator should be hatching this Sunday/Monday (that will be 28 days). Can I candle them or just let them be and see what happens this weekend?
So lets keep our fingers crossed
Also if I do bid wars... do I have to be 100% sure these are fertile eggs, I would really feel bad if they where not any good. How does all that work?
I put up 36 eggs in a cool dark place....................
