How long do they molt

The bad thing about having several hens the same age is they are molting at the same time. I'm getting only two eggs a day from the two hens I added. The seven original layers who produced 3 to 7 eggs a day have shut down. How long will they be like this?

A mini molt lasts about 3-4 weeks and they start laying shortly thereafter. A full blown molt might last 4 months,it depends. Cheer up though,I have a Black Star hen that went through a full molt and layed just about every day! My Barred rocks completely shut down for about 2 months and were really ragged looking...poor things.
