How long does hatching process take?

Okay, so after a quick candle with the lid only slightly lifted and a blanket over the incubator *me underneath* i found out none of the babies have internally pipped yet as far as i can see, but the air cells look like they are very soon to as they are large and dipped down. is this okay?
I'm guessing it means they're just a little more behind than i thought and not to panic?

DIPPING IS GOOD. usually they dip THree days Before they are ready to hatch.. You sure you don't have your days off???

I counted the first day as the day when i put them in the incubator. But it was half way through the day so technically the due date could be today. and even then they could just be a little late.

OK time doesn't matter they go by days. Doesn't matter what time you put them in. They are very late then, OH WAIT wasn't your temp at 99 or something? with a Still? If so that would explain the lateness..

If u got to my website www.lwbarnhouse.com. Click on the duck tab, I have posted two methods that i have used in hatching call ducks. Both works for chickens as well with the exception you don't most or sponge a chicken egg. There's a lot of different in formation some of the information I have noticed is for a wet bulb which is misconscourge. We usually do the regular gage method.
Thank you for posting your link. It is very informative and I wish I had found it earlier! I have seven Appleyard eggs in a borrowed HovaBator. This is my first time hatching out eggs and they were some that I had shipped to me. The eggs have done wonderful and went into lockdown on Monday (two days ago). The HovaBator came with a dinky thermometer that I had trouble reading and so I put a cheap walmart thermometer that also had a humidity gauge in with it. As of Monday all of my eggs were alive and well. I haven't dared to open the bator to check them. AS PER INSTRUCTED by HovaBator, I pulled out the turner, filled all of the water chambers (I had only been filling two which read at 65% humidity) and placed eggs on the side. My humidity went to 80% with all of the water chambers filled and has been there for two days!!! I am worried sick I killed my babies! Why would the instructions have you put so much water in if the humidity level rises so high? I saw three eggs rocking on Monday night and last night just one egg moved but I am worried sick after finding and reading this thread! Any advice?? Hatch day is supposed to be Thursday May 8th. Here is a link to the incubator I am using: https://www.gqfmfg.com/pdf/circ instructions.pdf

HOVABATOR? NOOO, I don't think your suppose to fill all of them??? OMG, if you have all of them FILLED GET THAT WATER OUT. OH CRAP... OH YOU POOR THING!!!!!

I have a HOVA and your suppose to fill the Center one, if that doesn't raise the humidity to what you need it at, then you Fill the second one in the middle. But what helps me is I keep a sponge or a Paper towel IN the chamber.

OMG, here's what you do, Unplug the bator, get a paper towel and SUCK up that water, Check your Humidity. Wait 30 minutes if still high, Do the suck up paper towel thing again. If to low add just a LITTLE bit of water and keep checking it..

As far as the Eggs, YOUR gonna have to candle them. Your gonna have to do it Quickly. Get in a closet or a very dark room, and check for movements.. I would do One at a time, Candle one if it's moving put him back wait 30 minutes. Then do the next one. Keep doing this until all of them are done this way you won't cause them to shrink wrap.. I wouldn't try and do all of them at the sametime, Unless you can get them done within 10 minutes.

I just candled them and have no idea. They were not moving and I couldn't see internal pipping. Just a black blob and a white air cell. The instructions clearly say: 2 to 3 days before the hatch, stop turning the eggs, and fill both the center and the outer troughs with water. :( Waaaaa! I will take some water out, and give them another day or two but I think I killed all of my precious eggs!!

Do they look like they have dipped already??? Only take the water out to get the Humidity down. Get it around 70%
