How long does it take to establish a pecking order?

I just got my seconds flock of 8 chickens and was going to get a few ducks but the lady that was going to give them to me (she is very sweet) sadly lost about a dozed ducks, chickens, anda bunnies. I feel so sorry for her. anyways, im not getting ducks because she has none to give. so im going to just get like 3 more chickens, i found a deal on a cream legbar but im worried that she will be picked on by the others. i have only had the other ones for a little under a month. the other ones are 9 weeks old and one of them is 12. the legbar is about 5 weeks though. any ideas on how to introduce this one bird?

It is best to let them sort it out, but it is important to have hideouts and multiple feed and waters available. I find it works best to have a cluttered run, so that birds can get out of sight of each other. Birds irritate each other, much like at an office, if you can get away for a bit, you can take a bit more.
