How long does little guy have?

Nope. After some tapping, candling, and encouragement from mom and 14 siblings I just thought he was dead. He had definitely internally pipped tho, and his membrane was kinda dry.
Well that's good he at least had internally pipped. He's probably a full day or two behind the others though.

Try to keep any oil and goopy membrane stuff off of his face by the way. They can aspirate on even a little drip of liquid.

I've rescued quite a few babies that got injured before hatching. Farmers call me sometimes when they hit duck or pheasant nests and I've had some very close to hatching that got partially crushed. It's really tough to keep them alive long enough but it is possible. I've saved probably half a dozen or so babies that way. Just keeping them warm, humid, and stimulated (gently prodding a bit to keep them alert). Some of them are strong enough to make it through the slow absorbing process and still come out strong and some just aren't.
Well that gives me some hope. This little guy is at least not injured beyond the pecking that his mom did.

Yeah I kinda thought so, the others were completely dry and running around when I got there, this little one was an egg in an abandoned nest. Plus there are only a handful of hens contributing to a nest of about 20 eggs, it's crazy that 14 hatched and that this guy survived for such a long time without warmth.

Fingers crossed for him. If he makes it through the night I'd say his chances are good. I dropped a almost full term chicken egg once when I was moving a broody's nest and it was probably as bad as yours, and he eventually made it too.

Just keep him warm and moist and see how he does. Good luck!
