How long for the first egg?

My BR Daisy has decided I think that today she is going to lay her first egg. She has been a little louder this morning and she was not interested in eating much today and keeps running up into the hen house and laying in a nest. She has now been sitting in the same nest for about 30 minutes. All the color from her comb and wattle has left and it has now turned a light pink color. So I was wondering about how long does the first egg take??? SO EXCITED!!!

Never mind she layed!!!!!!! It was tiny and she gave quite the song afterwards getting the other BR to do the same. But we got our first egg. So now I know how long it takes!!

So do the eggs get bigger the longer she lays?

Yay! Congrats. They generally get a little bigger as they go. Something the first few eggs are a little odd.
