How long is a chicken's memory?

Anyway, generally speaking, chickens have pretty good memories. Just try to break a chicken of a bad habit and you'll see. They remember people and animal faces for a long time, and will not forget important lessons learned, such as how to get back into their run and who is an easy mark for treatsi

As junebuggena pointed out, they don't suffer separation anxiety for any extended period after flock social disruptions, and they live in the present moment so they aren't preoccupied with past events. They will remember those things important to their survival for a very long time.

Hm. I'm not sure about their instinctual memory but I think their short term memory span might only be about 10 minuets. I do not think they have much of a pre-frontal lobe at all.
