How Long Is Too Long (Broody Hens)?

@Scchicks213 I usually candle my eggs on day 7, 14, and 17 but and there seems to be something in the eggs but it's not nearly as opaque as it should be which leads me to believe that they died or something but only recently as development was alright for at least 2 weeks. I think I'll end up breaking her broodiness today and move her into my newly finished separate pen so she can have a break from the rooster

@aart The incubating eggs are in the lockdown stage and I should be expecting some hatching shortly so I don't want to disrupt the eggs too too much, but I might try that in the future with eggs that haven't entered the lockdown stage yet

@aart incubator was full so I let her sit on the extra eggs that were laid but I guess they're duds
if your broody is in the coop with other hens, are you sure you dont have stagered batch. if so that might mean some eggs have not had enough time to hatch.

@50-45-1 I suppose it's possible but with the canceling and everything, there haven't been drastic changes to the contents of the egg which I can usually observe during incubation so the occurance of a staggered clutch of eggs didn't really cross my mind
