To pick up eggs from the coop?

I'm wondering how long eggs can be left without being picked up and put in the fridge? Usually we collect every day, within a short time of the egg being laid. However, there will be times when we will be away for a weekend and the eggs may be left out for a day or 2 before being able to be collected. Is it ok to collect and eat the eggs if they've been left out for a day or 2? Should they be discarded?

it depends on where the hens lay. outside, inside, shade, sun temperature, moisture; a few days should be fine

Down here where it gets pretty hot, we've left the eggs for six/seven days while we're on holiday and they've been okay
