how long should i keep baby quails on crumb

hi just wondered when i should move the little quails off crumb and what is the next best feed for them and what age should they be.
they are only 2 weeks so i know they will need crumb for a little while longer.
 
Most likely you can keep feeding whatever you feed them now, for the rest of their lives. Just add a dish of crushed oyster shell when they reach laying age and they'll be good to go. Many people on here feed quail the same feed all their lives, though some will switch to a layer feed or similar. But if they are coturnix, they'll need at least 24% protein to lay optimally and it's pretty rare to find a layer feed that has that much, so adding oyster shell to their baby diet is sometimes a better option. And as for the size of their feed, crumble should do just fine. Some pellets are too large even for adults.
