How long should you let shipped eggs rest before incubating

I have been turning by tipping incubator. Eggs are in cartons big end up. I candled last night. One blood ring, one maybe blood ring. Four or five developing. My question now is, the development is at the big end, literally at the top of the egg. Looks like the air cell is at the small end. Will this be ok? I didn't get pictures yet.

So far I have one detached air cell. Can't believe it! I thought they would all be ruined. So in 2 days I'll candle, but I think I have some action happening even now....... Time will tell.

It's funny how chickens seem to always make a liar out of me, lol! I turned the eggs last night and figured while I had to handle them, it wouldn't hurt to look. I have 7 developing!!! it's early, we'll see.

Today is day16. I have 7 live embryos, the others either quit or never developed. I have been keeping the eggs upright in cartons and tipping the incubator to turn. It looks to me that the aircells are in good shape. I have two questions. 1. Should I stop turning at day 16 or the usual 18? 2. If the aircells look good, should I lay the eggs down? I'm not sure about them hatching in the cartons. Thanks for any advice!
