How long to use the antibiotic ointment on a large wound?

Brownie lost a big section of skin on her back 10 days ago. She was on a week of oral antibiotic and I always had triple antibiotic ointment on it. But its looking like its going to do whatever it is that its going to do now, with or without the ointment. Is there any reason to continue with the ointment any further? I tend to think at this point, her body will do the right thing in its healing process.
Here's how her wound looked at day 9 post-attack with no ointment on it.

I agree with Pop. Whatever is going to happen will happen. I would just keep her separated and give her good food, treats and love and cross your fingers.

Thanks Pop and Purpletree. She's inside the house, so no worries about flies and dirt, etc. Thanks for your replies. That's what I was thinking too.

If you use Swat ointment (for horses) it has fly repellent built in (and smells wonderful) if you ever have an outside bird. I'd agree with the others, since she's inside, not to worry about it.
