how long to zip once started

I have a chick that has started to zip , it's about 1/4 way round but has now stopped for about 3 hours has done nothing. I had another one last time that did this and died as I just left it for too long so I am relly nervous and don't want the same thing to happen. How long do you all think generaly it takes once they have started zipping ? HELP !!!

so no stress ( well until the other 11 are out too !!!)

Mine has started to hatch but the membrane is still there and has blood on it, i'll just leave it for now.

From a pip to zipping out "can" take up to 24 hours......they rest, learn to breathe and are absorbing the rest of their yolk sacs...

Something else could have been going on with your other chick for it to have died in the shell after almost zipping out...weak chicks are the ones that usually don't make it...
