How long will intact pumpkins last outside?

I put our moldy pumpkings in the compost (along with other moldy scraps), the chickens and pot belly pig picked them clean. It really depends on the mold. Look at bleu cheese! That stuff looks like it would kill US!

beekissed-thanks for the explanation. I think I'll leave a couple outside to freeze and thaw and see how that works out. The pumpkin my daughter carved did have those green dots inside so I didn't feed it to them but I guess I could have.
