How long would it take to go through a 50 lb bag with 3 Serama hens?

How many do you have in your flock @Kessel23?

25 chickens and 8 ducks, it is winter right now and they do not get any food from free ranging so they just get grain and some scraps. The ducks are big pigs and shovel the food down :) All my birds are large breeds. I get a 50 pound bag of scratch and a 50 pound bag of layer food every 8 days. Food consumption goes way down in the summer. My coop has a forest behind it filled with wild fruit trees and bugs, an apple orchard next to it and tall grass all around it that fills with crickets and other bugs. A 50 pound bag can last more than twice as long in the summer for my birds. I am also getting 75 new chicks this spring...

Too long....the time it took would be so long that the nutritional value of the feed would degrade to the point of being useless and potentially rancid. For three serema the best option is paying the convenience price of small 5-10 pound bags that are sold for small pet flocks such as this.

@Kessel23 do you feed your ducks waterfowl feed? I'm curious because I'm hearing they will eat less that way because they are not starving for needed nutrients there not getting from the chicken feed. I have 4 ducks and 17 chickens eating 50 pounds a week and 1/4 bag of scratch (I go easy on scratch and treats). I'm curious to try the waterfowl feed even if it's more expensive to see if my ducks eat less and avoid a any future health issues.
