How long?

Ok I have this rooster who I suspect is eating eggs. Well I took three of four hens away from him and put them in another pen. How long after seperation will their eggs still be fertile? I want to hatch some and get rid of "nearly headless nick".

The hens stay fertile for 2 weeks. So yes you can seperate them but only for 2 weeks at a time. I wouldnt go 2 weeks at a time i would probably go a week and a half to stay on the safe side. Hope it helped
