I'm just wondering, how long, on average do hens lay eggs in they're lifetime? Assuming they live a full life.

I looked around on the web, briefly, for a good answer to this. There is so much variation between breeds and even individual chickens. Most chickens probably don't live long past 10 years, and those may lay at least a few eggs a year all their life. But chickens can live about 20 years, and are not likely to lay that long.

From what I've read chickens have a finite of eggs in their body so I would say when they run out there done. There most productive their first year of laying & it goes down hill from there.
