How low will it go? Gas Prices I mean

Gas is around $1.95 around here(Waco, Tx)

I just have a really bad feeling about gas being THIS low. Wasnt it..just a little over a month ago they said gas wouldnt get under $2.70 a gallon and now its waaay under that. My hubby also thinks Im crazy, but like I said I just have a bad feeling about all this.

All of you should count your blessings. Our cheapest gas is $4.29/gallon. Guess that's what happens when your governor runs for VP - no one home to stop the fox from raiding the henhouse.

I am wondering if OPEC is worried we are going to start having alternatives to gas soon & that we will also start to drill for our own gas. ~~ I think that a lot of those OPEC countries rely on mostly gas profits for their economic stability? So maybe its the Fear Factor of the OPEC World?

It is interesting to watch the prices now though~~and I hope they go back to that 29 cent price from "long ago!" And stay there.

folks can even remember when gas stations used to give out free dishes such as glasses, etc. as incentives to go to a certain gas station! My mother got matched sets of those when I was little.

Noticed gas was $1.99 point 9 in town today. Wouldn't you know, I have a full tank from last week!
As to the 23 cent/gallon gas from yesteryear, I also remember the "gas wars" that would bring it down to 12 or 15 cents/gallon for a few days at a time. As a teenager with a part time job making 75 cents/hour, I loved it! Twenty-five cents worth was enough to allow us to "cruise" all Saturday night in my '49 Plymouth coupe (early 1960s).
When I got married in 1968, my "casual china" for everyday was from the gas station. Had service for 12 with all the extra serving pieces! LOL Haven't times changed!

The first entry in my car stat/maintenance book says 1.99 a gallon. Looking at the log books from my dad's 68 chevy, gas was something like 11 cents a gallon. In it you could see the spike of gas prices when it was rationed and when the locking gas cap was purchased! Wish we had the book still since watching the prices of things and maintenance schedual in the log book change over the years was interesting. But it was sold with the truck last year to a hobiest who refurbs them. I think he still misses his American made Chevy even though he got a brand new made in Mexico one to replace it.
