I just had my first broody hatch 6 out of 6 eggs. I have more eggs I would like to hatch and a willing standard Cochin. How many eggs can she safely handle? The bator is set up and ready but broodys seem to have a fantastic hatch rate. Thanks!

My hen is sitting on about a dozen - she huge - but sheesh! She's broken about 3 or 4 of them already. I'm letting her have-at this. I'm curious to see how many she can hatch out on her own.

Coachie just hatched 6/6. Fluffy will be getting 12 as soon as I get them from Ms. Mail Lady. Lovin those big, beautiful broodies!

I've got 13 under my standard cochin. She's due to hatch around april 1st. One egg she had went broody with after I stopped collecting for the incubator and then I needed room in the bator so I gave her what I had already been incubating plus the jersey giant austrolorp cross eggs. theres really only a few days between the one egg and the dozen I put under her, but I desperatley needed her services. LOL.

Oh brother. A friend of mine just dropped off some test eggs to try out. Fertile free range from the market. I need more broodies!
