how many chickens can i have?

9 or 10 if they spend most of their time outdoors. Your coop, if there is nothing on the floor (like feeders or waterers or the nest boxes), can support 9, maybe 10 chickens. Your run could handle 20 chickens.

It's always better to have MORE space than you need than crowd them too much.

The "general rule" is 4 square feet of coop space for each large fowl (standard) chicken and 10 square feet per chicken in the run.

they would only go in at night.. because my run isnt totally predator proof. but once i get the money it will be..
also.. can i empty 3 bags of grass clipping into the run if they have lots of grit?
