How many chickens can I house in my coop and run!

The coop is 8' x 10' and I am not sure about the run, I haven't measured it. But I let them free range for at least half the day usually, and I live in south east Georgia where we have mild winters and no snow to speak of, I won't have to keep them cooped up all day for half the year! I am wanting to add a few more birds to my flock and would like to know how many I can fit in my coop.

You have a nice set up. With the big run and free ranging you could likely do 2 square foot per chicken in the coop versus the usual four square foot recommended for those who have small runs and no free ranging.

Thank you! We are also going to be adding some roosts in the run and other fun things for my flock to do. I am going to add a frame with wire of the top for grass to grow, an old tire with lots of dirt in it for dust bathing.

Yes we have chicken wire over the whole top! I don't want anything to be able to get in a get my flock, and the fence is about 6 1/2 - 7 ft tall

Yea it takes time. It took us about a month to get this one up and functional. We still have few more odds and ends to add but it can be used.

i think that you can add 20-15 birds more as you free range them

yes they do. they seem to work good. they pile up at the top together and there is atill space at the bottom.
