How many chickens can you have in your flock ?

I have my limit 50 chickens right now I have 30 birds (chickens)

We started with 13 chicks last Spring, have so far been lucky, learning as we go. Oh mixed flock Easter eggers, California Grey, Welsummers, and 2 annoying bully leghorns that will be going in the freezer.

I have 34 right now but in the process of buying a house now and hope to be more around the 50-60 range there. I sell the eggs.

No regulations here that I'm aware of. I'm limited simply be the amount of run space I can sweet-talk honey into making! Currently around 2 dozen, will probably keep it around 16-20. That seems to be a nice number for me.

Back woods Mo so no regulations. Currently have roughly 41 pullets (4 of which are CX from last summer) laying. 5 cross bred cockerels, 1 pure BA cockerel. For adult birds. And 1 rouen duck,, drake got killed last week by something. 60 CX 1 week olds. 12 DP chicks in brooder for pure replacement roosters and a couple possible pullets. And what ever will hatch over next 3 weeks from incubator.
Egg supply doesn't keep up with our demand so will be adding this year. If I double my production (Currently around 90%) I would be sold out every week still. All free range except the chicks. Neighbor lady adopted a pullet that moved to her garage last year. She's more a pet than a worker but still gives the elderly couple (Upper 80's) an egg a day and the wife a big smile very morning.

I have aprox. 49 hens...(3 hens w/chicks) (2 setting) getting 27 to 33 eggs a day...not counted there are 4 roosters.....Not counted are 26 Isa Brown chicks that will supply next years eggs ... Keep 4 breeds for meat...Buff Orpington, Astralorpe, Barred rock and Rhode Island Red . (will illiminate one roo soon) 50 adult hens are my limit...only because I have the room and enjoy the eggs and will continue until my 25 Isa's start laying....then the sad day will come when I want to downsize flock (end of summer) I hate like heck to let my old girls go they are really not laying ...and have been the foundation hens for me (am in my 4th year of raising chickens and it just gets better and better...chicks grow into large hens....great and fun to plan..Tip: learned to put a colored tag on foot to indicate the YEAR the chick was hatched..when they grow into hens they all look alike and size...
In the mix I have 5 broody hens...OEG (2) flock is self sustaining -plenty eggs and meat..glory to God...G

If you're asking how many you are ALLOWED by law, code or restrictions, you'll have to check with the governing body in your locale.

If you want to know the practical limit you can keep up with, well... Who knows?

I'll offer this and let you chew on it. Back in the days of free ranged market rearing, 500 layers per acre was considered the MAXIMUM.
This was based on the sodded earths own ability to absorb the effects of the birds upon it. Anything less begins forcing you to add waste management schemes to your poultry keeping efforts.

If we do a little math....

[acre] 42544 sq ft / 500 = 87 sq ft per bird.

If you can provide AT LEAST this much fertile sod per bird*, and properly care for and protect them, well ... The sky is the limit.

* If you're asking how many I MYSELF CAN KEEP, I have allocated 1/10th of an acre for them. This means I will have no more than 48. Rounding down for safety, I set 40 as my practical limit.

It is a question I made this thread because I wanted no how many chickens that they can have from reasons like if there were regulations of hens
