That sounds about right! I'm selecting in a similar manner. Based off of temperament for the most part. I do have one Cochin who is the most skittish thing ever, but she's gorgeous! So, a little based on looks as well. I don't mind having a couple of "lawn ornaments". I've wanted silkies for ever and I finally got three this year, and they turned out to be little jerks! I'm assuming I managed to pick out three cockerels at this point, I think I see streamers coming in. So, I think they'll be getting new homes soon. I might try again to get a silkie hen, but not sure yet.How are you going to make your selection from the 10 chicks, who stays and who goes based on what? Because we have currently more then our limit but their just chicks so my plan is to keep the friendlier ones or ones I have a bond with.
Side note: today I told my husband how I’m fine with re homing our brown leghorn chick because it’s flighty, skittish, and hates me even after 4 weeks under my care (it’s 6 weeks old though). Long and behold, today the brown leghorn, named Hazel, decided to jump on my shoulder out of the blue while I was sitting down by them. FIRST TIME ever she came to me!!! Pretty sure she heard me talking how I might give her the boot earlier in the day. Sooooo now Hazel gets to stay.
I got 2 black silkies and their 3 weeks old, they want absolutely nothing to do with me! I had them since they were 2 days old. Then today I actually got 4 more silkies, 2 blue and 2 splash - and their 12 days old. Since their a straight run, I’m hoping for atleast one of each color to be a HEN! 
Worst case scenario since I tripled the amount of silkies I have, I’ll atleast get 1 hen. 
but compared to my other chicks - Wyandotte, australorp, black sex link, blue Andalusian - the silkies are the hardest to form a bond with. How old are your silkies?
