I lost one. He was a really old rooster. He seemed fine and did not appear to be sick at all and then 2 hours later I went back down to the barn and found him dead. It was on the day it got to -20. There was tons of hay and straw plus I put up a heat lamp that day but I guess it was too much for him. All my other 60 chickens, ducks, and geese have pulled through winter just fine with no added heat except for that one day where it was -20.
