How many chickens in a Chick-N-Hutch?

I think we're going to have to build something a little sturdier as a chicken "stable" and use the hutch as a "run-in shed" Sorry to speak in horse terms, but I've been around horses for 25 years and only around chickens for 1. Is there a previous thread about cold weather coop construction for a small flock?

That's exactly how I use mine. It is in the big coop/hen house and when I don't have babies in it I leave the front dropped down and open. Anyone who wants can use it as a "run-in-shed" but everyone is secure in their sturdy enclosed "stable". Good analogy.

It gets lots of use. Sometimes they just use it as a get away place. On pretty days if I have a batch of chicks I'll haul it outside and put it in sunshine in the run.
