How many chickens per nest box?

I had three Serama hens setting one nest of eggs today. LOL I went to grab my camera, but one had gotten down by the time I got back to the coop.

I put a community nest box in, since I heard they always want the same one anyway--and it saved me putting in dividers (I am not a carpenter). It has worked very well and I highly recommend it. They can hang out together and chit chat or whatever they do, and not fight.

Everyone is right----they love prime real estate!! I have 3 nests and 8 hens and sometimes 16(when my uncle goes out of town) and they all use 2 nests--some days just 1. They are funny about it so don't waste material, just build a few!
