How many chickens.............

I was going to get starter pullets but if I need 50-60 that's a lot of money so its cheaper to buy baby chicks and for the heap lamp I am going to use a heat plate because i don't want to take the risk of a fire

I hope you mean heat plates as you will need quite a few of them to handle that many chicks. Whatever the capacity claim is of the plates you're considering, halve it, and calculate number of plates from there.

With larger groups, a heat lamp (or two) is probably a better choice as it covers a larger area.

You will need to know how many nearly POL's vs chicks. The chicks you can figure, you will be feeding for several months before you get any eggs so it's the cost difference. Since I hatch out all of my chicks it's different but I still have to feed them. For around 200 birds, I go through around 1000 lbs of feed monthly. You can figure 5 eggs per week per bird at their peak. Some may lay more and some less, average. Good luck and have fun.

This where I sell my extra males.

Hi, i have a question how many chickens would i need to get 25-50 eggs a day? i want to know so that i can get that many chicks lol

in Florida the coldest it gets in the winter is 65-70 degrees. know that I've been reading what everyone has said i probably only want enough chickens so that i can get 1 dozen of eggs a day
How many eggs do you want?

Also take into account on ordering chicks not all make it you may have a handful pass away for many of reasons.
Also if unsexed you may have lots and lots of roosters.
