1. how many chooks do you keep in your backyard? None right now, have
hatched 5 and incubating more now

2. do you live rural or rural town or city? suburbs

3. how big is your yard? less than 1/2 acre

I live in a dense neighborhood in the middle of a town of 100K, with one neighbor 15' to the South and one 25' to the North. We have deep backyards (300') and so do the neighbors behind us, so it's nearly 600' to the next house West.

I have 5 BR that run free in my backyard with a 4'8" chain-link all around (most of it has flowering clematis and other vines or trees along it) with an 8' x 11' goldfish pond.

My girls live in an 8' x 8' garden shed mansion, with no real run, but simply a pop to the outside. They like to hang out inside quite a bit, too, and in the 2-story Victorian playhouse my DH built my DDs.

My neighbor 2 houses north has a 45' x 55' backyard with 2 RIR and 1BR, free-rangers who sleep in a tractor he covers with plastic in the winter.

Doing our share to keep the neighborhood weird!

1. 114, but 20 will be sold over the next couple months. After that I will have 8 Roosters/Cockerels and 86 Hens/Pullets.

2. Sort of a suburb of rednecks in a rural area.

3. 1 acre.

I currently have 21 that free range and 5 in a run.

2. do you live rural or rural town or city?
Rural

3. how big is your yard?
I have 10.5 acres but most of it is uphill. The chickens don't like all of it, it has been strip mined so there are very few trees. They stay behind our barn in about a 1/2 acre area with trees
