How many coops are too many?

I was thinking this, but with breeding it seems mutiple smaller coops, while a pain in winter to do, makes more sense.
Wouldn't be too bad if they were right next to each other, maybe with run fencing sharing a wall? External lay boxes and deep bedding and a rain barrel system with pVc nipple waterer t hat runs from one barrel I to both runs. The more creative\efficient your setup the easier your mornin will be.

My big coop has a partition in it. 1/2 is a screen coop with just roosts and a small chicken door between. I made it that way so I could section off if I needed to. It’s enclosed but has huge 4x6’ windows/screens for air. I did end up buying an 8x8. I’m happy with what I have. What’s nice about the 2nd coop is that I store the feed in it , close to the coop! It makes a difference when I’m constantly carrying water down there..

Yes, I hadn't really considered this oh so practical aspect until I posted this thread, but this is indeed one major consideration. I run sand in all mine, helps a great deal. A rain barrel system makes more and more sense as we seem to be getting more rainy days these past few years.
