How many coops are too many?

Be aware that wire crates aren't safe, especially from raccoons, who can reach in easily. I use big airline crates, which are safer. Any crate is good for isolation, but only in predator proof areas.

Safer but not what I would leave a bird in outside of a secure area.
Had an airline crate in the poultry yard with treats locked inside.
Found it about 50 ft away with the door still locked but open.

How many coops do we poultry folk generally have?? I am having a third coop, our second 4x6, built and now may have a sweet deal on a fourth coop at least 4x6 in size. How many coops do you all have?? Lol, is this a recipe for chicken math disaster?? Also, can a 4x6 coop be good for say 4 turkeys by themselves?? Lol, aware of needing a larger door but is that the only needed change?
I have 3 of them one for quail one for my mix breeds and one for quarantine

Lol, I would wager my basement is pretty predator proof, but I know what you are meaning.

I can't speak for others but I find having extra facilities like a coop with its own run, a shelter without nests, or just places in the coop I can isolate a chicken... can reduce my stress levels tremendously when something happens.
Amen to that!!

But then when it’s the height of chick hatching and growing out season, and you have birds stuffed in every available space, stress levels do rise for a while!
