how many cover their coop floor with linoleum?

I used vinyl flooring, unglued and covered with about 6-8" of shavings.

We put down a linoleum sheet and have it covered with a few inches of pine shavings. Haven't had to do the Spring cleaning yet, but I think it should be easy. We put a "poop pit" under the roosts so most of the droppings go there since the girls prefer to be out and about during the day.

We are in the process of building a new coop, 12'X 20'. We bought a single sheet of vinyl, exactly the size of the floor and put it down before the walls were installed. Actually, only two walls are up, hopefully, this weekend the remaining walls will be put in place. We plan on caulking along the bottom plate, probably put in some quarter-round, too.

What about horse stall mats? You could cut them to size and you could also haul them out and hose them down maybe once a year or twice a year.

I'm thinking about them for my new coop rather than vinyl flooring.

Im using ceramic tile!! .57 for a 12X12 tile & since were remodling the bathroom in the house & putting ceramic tile in it the grout & stuff we'll already have!

I want to put linoleum down in my coop but where do you find pieces that fit without having to buy a lot of flooring?

We only have access to one Home Depot in our area but they had a bin of linoleum pieces in various sizes and prices. For $20 we covered the floor of our coop. I think they also have flooring on rolls and you can buy the number of feet that you need. If you have recycling store in your area be sure to check with them.

Somewhere on this website is a list of the Top Ten Things you would include in your next coop. Linoleum flooring was on that list. With larger coops someone suggested that you run the linoleum 18" up the walls. With a nice layer of straw, shavings or pellets there should not be a problem with slipping. If my birds were sliding out the doors on their butts I would be sure to take videos before I solved that problem.

We live close to 2 Home Depots. One does not save and sell remnants at all. (What a waste!) At the other Home Depot all the remnants were too small for our 4x6 coop. I think perhaps a remnant that size might do for a small bathroom or something. Instead of the Despot (spelling error intentional), we went to a small independent flooring place, and they had several pieces to choose from.

And its one of my favorite details of the coop! SO easy to clean.
