How many days to complete clutch of eggs?

She's about a year old and so is her husband. :p

I think I might just let the lone egg sit in the nest box for a few days and see if more eggs collect there, and hope she goes broody. If not, I will get an incubator and just try to hatch it that way after 10 days or so. She is an Oriental Gamefowl and from what I read they are good at hatching eggs by themselves unlike commercial egg laying chickens where they breed them to just lay eggs and move along to lay more. Question though, after the first egg..... how many more days until she deposits her last egg? I want to know what kind of window I'm working.

By the way how many hens do you have ? It sounds like you only have a hen and a rooster, it’s best get a few more hens as roosters can over mount hens to the point where they have bear backs, it’s best have 4 hens for your rooster. Since you’re planning on hatching eggs you could end up with even more roosters. If you’re planning on having more than one rooster, the ideal number of hens per rooster is 10 -15. Do you have a plan for where the roosters will go when you hatch your eggs ?

Yes, I only have one hen and one rooster. My hen is fine, she doesn't look too beat up or anything, just a few missing feathers on the back of her head. I just want to raise them for fun, these are not egg laying birds so my intentions were not to get them for egg consumption... more for just keeping them as a hobby as they are my favorite birds.

Did you just get these birds?
It sounds like this is the first time she's laid?

Where are you located?
Climate is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, then it's always there!

I'm not worry about my rooster being too aggressive with her, he's like me..... a gentleman. :p

I've got another question, I don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched but....... if and when they do hatch the old fashioned way (broody hen), should I separate the rooster right away? And if I incubate them, how soon can I introduce them to the mother? I'm excited as this is my first time breeding chickens so I'm trying to gather as much info as I can.

You say she’s missing feathers on her neck, that’s the beginning of over mating.
If hatched by an incubator, you can’t introduce them to your older chickens until they are at least over 10 weeks of age, some wait till their chicks are 15 weeks.
If hatched by a mother hen, the rooster will be no good to the chicks and he may even kill them.

Not always true. I don’t have a rooster, but everytime my friend broody hatched his barred rock roo acts like a second broody, foraging for them and calling them over for treats.

It all depends on the rooster, what I said may not be entirely true but it is quite rare to have a rooster help mother/raise the chicks.
As for the OP, if you were to allow your rooster near the chicks I would keep an eye on them for the first day, just to make sure he doesn’t end up injuring any of them.

I checked again today... but still only just that one egg soo far, will there be more eggs coming or no? How many eggs do they usually lay, and how many more days should I wait until I try to incubate it? The hen's stomach/chest is more plump than usual...... is that a sign that there are more eggs in her?
