must be nice planting your garden already. i have to wait for the 4 feet of snow to melt and then wait for it to dry up. maybe by end of may. looks like it will be a wet spring here with all this snow on the ground.

Maine is a beautiful place and I've loved it every time I've visited. But I just couldn't take the spending the entire winter there. I've been there in December and January so I know what I speak of. I was there in either 1999 or 2000 when you had the ice storm that snapped off the tops of almost every tree in the middle of the state. People who were more than a few hundred feet from the main roads didn't get electricity back on for several weeks. I've lived in both Colorado and Minnesota and went through some bad winters there as you might guess but I just don't think I could take your winters year in and year out. That's why I left Colorado because I needed more than 3 months of green in a year. North Carolina has its problems but weather isn't one of them.

My mother's hens had only 2 out of 5 chickens w eggs today. I have 2 hens [one is new to my place tho] and one consistently laid an egg every day this last 2 weeks. When i had a sex-linked hen she was ultra faithful every day until she got old; even in the dead of winter rain, snow, thunder. I miss her now
