How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

The girls free range in the afternoon and get vegi scraps too. They're fat as ticks. I think my coop is a little too drafty right now. I had to do some repairs in the rain/sleet today. Hopefully a little more warmth will help their disposition. We'll see tomorrow.

Big day for us, 10 eggs! First time this has happened, I'm still not getting one from one of my girls that will be a year old Thursday. Hopefully she is just a late bloomer

The buff that was on the left moved to the right and then back to the left...when I went back out to check on them again no one was in the box and there were 3 eggs all on the left....they sure weren't there earlier! Funny birds! And they move the golf ball around with them!

One of the EEs must have decided she wanted that middle box because at 2:30 there was a Faverolles in the center box and one in the right side box. At 5 there was a green egg in the center box and 2 Faverolles in the right side box. "You, OUT!!! You aren't doing anything anyway"

I can imagine the fuss the Faverolles made since she growls at us when we go in the coop because she knows we are going to take her out of the box. Most of the 8 eggs today were in the community box, with the plastic egg.

Well yesterday we broke our record with 52 eggs and today we did 45 very nice the girls are starting to pick up again. woot

Congrats Nelson!

10 for 10!!!!! I am so excited!

Congrats! I'm still waiting for my first "all laid" day.

We also treat with black oil seeds, veggies and meal worms (dried)

Gave mine water from the rice based pasta we made last night. They LOVED it so I gave them seconds. I doubt there is much food value, but there isn't much in snow either

It will eventually warm up, green up and they can happily graze while they range.

Congrats! Hopefully the lazy butt will get with the program and lay 6 a week EVERY week

8 today. None from the Cubalayas and none from the broody Faverolles.

19 today from our 22 BSL's. What a yucky day today was here in central NC. Cold, dreary, and rainy all day long. Some sleet was mixed in. Everywhere I look in my yard it a puddle and walking out in the yard really requires wearing my boots. I am so ready for some global warming we've been promised...

6 out of 8 girls.
Today's treats, dried meal worms , romaine , mac and cheese left overs, rasins and cabbage. I put these mixtures in two big dog dishes, so all 8 can get some goodies .
