How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

When did your leghorn star laying? we got 3 they are 18 weeks. I got a few eggs from them last week and now I am getting 2 brown eggs a day.
She just started about 2 weeks ago, they should be getting ready to lay soon. What gave it away for me was, when they all started squatting when I went near them.... most of my pullets are doing the squat thing. My pullets are almost 21 weeks old.

Mine make all kinds of weird noises!!!! lol I just wish the other pullets would follow suit soon!!!! I'm getting 5 or 6 a day... I'm wanting to sell my eggs. My cousin said she pay 3.99 a dozen for brown eggs at the store!!!! Holy cow that's a lot for eggs. I'm only going to charge 1.50 or 1.75 a dozen.

Yeah brown eggds go for a lot. Mine are free ranged eggs ut we do offer them feed at night so they dont peck eachother while in coop. I am going to be selling mine fore around $2/dozen. we paid $4 dozen at store for organic eggs, of course I can't say mine are organic with the feed at night. But Still!

Mine are kept in a run. Got too many dogs around that would try to eat them, as well as my own dog.... she isn't sure what to make of them yet. She whines at the run when she is near them.... it's pretty funny.... but don't trust her just yet. She caught a wild turkey earlier this spring...but it got a way. TG! I don't understand why it is taking the other pullets to start laying, they are all the same age.

I have 3 red sexlinks, (supposedly) 6 amber links, and 3 black AL's
How I ended up with a leg horn is beside me.... mix up at the store???
I only have one true amberlink

we have two Dalmatians who have been around them since they were little chicks they dogs were around 6-8 months when we got them, They guard them. They will chase off other birds nd herd them in at night if they doont go in. we live on 5 acres so we have enough space for the chickens to happily range. Although did catch 2 RSL's at the neighbors...not sure why they went so far and luckily she didnt mind. Mind have to end up paying her in eggs ;)

Technically I'm not supposed to have chickens or live stock of any kind, but my neighbors don't mind. I told one neighbor I would give them some eggs when I finally get all 12 laying. I grew up in "town" so I have never had fresh eggs. I am having a blast with these chickens.... I had 3 of them on my back earlier this morning!!! It was a riot!

3 for 5 today. One I'm sure is a double yolk. Another is the first full sized from my easter egger. I keep track of my eggs per month. I'm up 16 this month over June.
