Can anyone answer me question plz?? I have 3 bantam pairs my first pair is laying eggs now but my other 2 aren't ..? The roosters are mating with them but no eggs ? Two of my hens are 9 months and the other 1 1/2 help plz?
A rooster will mount anything close to breeding age. That has nothing to do with egg laying. Egg laying is the result of ovulation which is stimulated by day length (other things to a lesser degree). Onset of lay is often delayed in winter.
Noo I'm certain they're not laying anywhere else they're in nice sized coops by pairs .. One of my hens did lay one very small egg then totally stopped laying.?
