How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Can anyone answer me question plz?? I have 3 bantam pairs my first pair is laying eggs now but my other 2 aren't ..? The roosters are mating with them but no eggs ? Two of my hens are 9 months and the other 1 1/2 help plz?

A rooster will mount anything close to breeding age. That has nothing to do with egg laying. Egg laying is the result of ovulation which is stimulated by day length (other things to a lesser degree). Onset of lay is often delayed in winter.

Are you sure they aren't laying elsewhere?? Our hens free range at least a half acre... Once when eggs production decreased for several days I did a "walk about" found a nice nest hidden in the middle of my Marion berry patch :)

Noo I'm certain they're not laying anywhere else they're in nice sized coops by pairs .. One of my hens did lay one very small egg then totally stopped laying.?

I have 16 week old pullets....have seen one of the roosters (one without his own harem) mount a few of these youngsters, I told DH they are going to be laying soon :)
He (the Rooster, not DH) is spending more time with the youngsters and less time with the flock he was raised in
