4/6 today technically....but two were cracked....and I had one hen go rogue.....

This morning when I let them out one hen, Noodle, suddenly went in the complete opposite direction that all the other girls went...directly to the fence between my neighbors yard and mine...I decided to watch for a minute to make sure she hadn't figured out a way into his yard...when she suddenly disappeared underneath a board that was laying against the fence! Turns out she had made herself a hidey hole, and already had 2 eggs in it! Of course they were frozen...but she was pretty agitated at me, and pretty determined to lay her egg there today. I let her, and gathered the egg afterwards. I removed the board, and placed a couple large rocks in the hole in order to encourage her not to lay there again.....

1/5 (in their defense, 3 are under a month old, and the other one hasn't started laying yet. This was the first egg)

3 before I left for work today, and then a surprising 2 more when I got home for a total of 5/6! Nearly there!

6 Frozen Eggs Chickens are all in the garage now because if you can imagine eggs are freezing with a space heater in the coop.

2/6, and it is still only 7:30 here. I have been getting only one egg on most days, but I'm up to 3, maybe 4 of my hens laying again. Whoever laid this morning had a total egg song competition going on! Haven't heard that for a long time!
