3 yesterday and 1 so far today. Is it normal for the laying to be inconsistent? 7 hens and they average 2 to 5 a day. No roo's.

7 from 8 yesterday. I had foot surgery on Friday, so now I have to wait for my 16 year old to gather the eggs for me and for her to feed and water the chickens for me. I already miss being able to do it all myself. I have to wait for her to collect them today to see how many we got today.

Yes, they can be inconsistent and then they can have periods when they lay consistently which can be followed by inconsistent laying again.
