I think they are just that way because they are young pullets laying them. The eggs are skinnier & more elongated than a normal egg.

I also have a one and a half year old RIR hen who still lays torpedo shaped eggs.

I have a black sexlink hen that lays such a skinny pointy egg that I have to place it upside down in the egg carton or it will flop all around.

7/10 today...anyone besides me noticing the pattern? Seems to be 2, then 5, then 7, rinse and repeat! I hate when I get eggs that are so elongated you can't tell the pointy end from the round end!

6/30 that have started laying. Got another 4 that haven't started laying yet.

Have gotten the elongated eggs. The ones that get me are the ones so rounded on both ends its hard to tell which end is supposed to be the pointed end.
