How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

4/4 yesterday and 5/4 the day before. Pretty sure I had a late layer the night before, missed it in the morning (5:30am) and saw it at night (6:30 pm). I only have 1 EE, LOL

When you say 4/4 do you men 4 out of 4 laid an egg? What do people mean when they have 3 numbers with slashes?? I want to be able to read the egg counts but do not understand how it's done. Can you explain it to me? Thank you

You are correct 4/4 would mean 4 eggs out of a possible 4 hens

For example yesterday we had a whopping 5/13 which is a miracle lately woohoo

I am still crazy impressed with my Comets & Leghorns--FRIGID today in upstate, NY and still got 10/10 awesome brown & white eggs! Love these girls!!

I agree, Of my 27 layers, it's my Red Stars (Murry McMurry Hatchery's version of a Comet) and White Leghorn girls who never let me down no matter how nasty the weather! I love my Production breed girls, and they are also the friendliest sweetest girls in the flock.

Five 10 month old hens, one has never laid but started squatting the last few days.
Three new pullets... probably 4-5 months old.

One egg every other day... Likely from Minty (Black Australorp) and Astrid (Buff Orpington). I've seen them both nesting, but not the others. There is a size and color consistency from the alternating eggs, so I can kid of tell which girl is laying.

Before the days shortened we were getting 4-5 a day from 6 hens... We lost one in mid fall.

yes, 4/4 means 4 eggs out of 4 chickens, or 4/4/8 would mean 4 eggs out of for pullets out of 8. Meaning 4 are laying and 4 aren't.

That's how I interpret that anyway

Have to correct yesterday's total I posted 15/23, but it was 17/23. I forgot two eggs out in my chicken area yesterday. Found them frozen this am....
